After eight years of successful operation, Monterey Bay Aquarium hired Joe to be the new Curator of Husbandry Operations in a newly re-organized Life Sciences Division. Joe’s role was to oversee the entire Husbandry Operations Department operating the existing Near Shore Galleries and to assist with the design and construction of the new Outer Bay Wing, including animal acquisition and quarantine.
Joe also helped with Monterey’s famous temporary exhibits program and was involved with husbandry R&D on new exhibit species.
